Today, Pronto Software [Evaluate this product], developer of enterprise software solutions, is announcing the inclusion of IBM’s Cognos 10 Business Intelligence suite in its upcoming release of PRONTO-Xi. This important news comes at the same time as IBM’s announcement of its new Cognos 10 BI suite release.

The general concept behind this integration is to enhance PRONTO-Xi’s enterprise capabilities with strong reporting and analytical features right out of the box. In this regard, David Jackman, Pronto Software’s Managing Director, says that “the strategic partnership with IBM is a defining step in its vision to increase the functionality and breadth of Pronto’s product portfolio and offer its customers a competitive advantage by delivering them the next generation ERP system that includes an intuitive BI capability.”

“We’ve done all the integration work so that IBM Cognos 10 is tightly embedded into PRONTO-Xi and our customers can start reaping the benefits immediately. They will be able to create ad hoc reports, slice and dice the data, and create dashboards in a new intuitive interface,” Jackman continued.

From the other side, Mychelle Mollot, IBM’s Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Business Analytics, says that “Pronto has been a valuable member of our IBM Cognos 10 beta program and instrumental in validating the value and benefits Cognos 10 will bring to midsize companies.”

The strong and long-term relation between these two organizations may be a key benefit for organizations that will be acquiring an enterprise system with strong functionality in both operational and analytical areas.

As with other partnerships, the degree of integration of both applications will be the key to success in terms of adoption rates.

PRONTO-Xi’s newest release is expected to appear in March 2011, while IBM’s Cognos 10 launch is expected to be presented today. If you want to know more about new features in Cognos 10, watch the worldwide launch (or see the teaser video).

Their are a number of “main advantages” that are delivered by this integration of PRONTO-Xi with IBM Cognos10.

1. All the benefits of a comprehensive and easy to implement broad function ERP solution and IBM’s market leading COGNOS10 are now available in one package.

2. The sum of its parts are greater than the whole. What do I mean by that? The value proposition of PRONTO-Xi which was already among the best in the market just got a whole lot better, with the added value of the inherent COGNOS10 licenses not adding significantly to the overall licensing costs of PRONTO-Xi.

3. The development team at Pronto Software have done all the hard work. The Star Schema are built, the DMRs have been created, the Dashboards have been built and are ready to use out of the box.

This brings the capability of Tier 1 reporting and BI into the SME and Mid-Market space with an exceptional value proposition.
