My recent post Bye-bye Beta announced that TEC Advisor, TEC’s online software evaluation and selection system, exited the beta phase. I highlighted its newest features that pertained to the pre-selection module (i.e., the series of questions prior to evaluation).
Since then, we’ve enhanced the evaluation module of TEC Advisor to allow users to more easily set priorities to functional areas, as well as customize how comparative results are displayed. Here’s a recap of the latest additions.
Assign Custom Colors to Solutions
Users begin their evaluation by choosing solutions from TEC’s extensive list of enterprise software products (see “Select Vendors” tab). TEC Advisor automatically assigns colors to the list of products selected for evaluation.
Users now have the ability to modify the color scheme, associating each product with a specific color according to their preference. Click on the assigned color next to the vendor solution to change the color. The resulting comparative radar graphs, pie charts, bar graphs, and other reporting options will display results according to the chosen color scheme.
Define Your Business Needs More Easily
In the “Prioritize Needs” tab, users create a requirement set that defines their business needs. On a scale ranging from “Not Important” to “Critical,” users create a profile reflecting their ideal solution by assigning priorities to relevant modules and sub-modules.
During our beta release, TEC Advisor users had expressed their desire to automatically reset priorities back to the “Must Have” level because doing so manually was time-consuming; therefore in the latest release, we have added two icons to enable users to perform this action—either to a specific level of hierarchy, or to all levels—with the click of a button.
If you haven’t already tried TEC Advisor, there isn’t a better time than now. At TEC, we’re constantly gathering new vendor data and updating our databases so that you have the latest information on which to base your evaluations. Furthermore, we’re working with more software vendors than ever through our certification program, where TEC verifies the solution’s ability to address real-world business processes as represented in TEC’s request for information (RFI) completed by the vendor.
I invite you to try TEC Advisor now to test the newest features for yourself. Use the Special Access Key byebyebeta for a free 5-hour trial of the application. As always, please let us know what you think!
Instructions for Special Access Key
Visit www.technologyevaluation.com, enter your special access key in the field at the bottom right of the TEC home page, and follow the instructions.
Would be interested to use this tool to evaluate for small, medium and large enterprises and see what comes out for a set of requirements!
I’ve provided the special access key, byebyebeta, so that you can take advantage of the 5-hour extended trial. Simply visit www.technologyevaluation.com, enter your special access key in the field at the bottom right of the TEC home page, and follow the instructions. You will be able to select an evaluation model (e.g. process manufacturing ERP, discrete manufacturing ERP, etc.) and choose the solutions you would like to compare. Enter your set of requirements/priorities and view the results.
