Kronos seems to be reaping the benefits from its geographic expansion into India and China. Reportedly, Renault-Nissan Automotive India evaluated lots of local time and attendance (T&A) vendors, but none of them fit the automaker’s automation requirements. Kronos was selected for its ability to offer a complete solution including full automation of the punch-to-pay process, real-time workforce visibility, and employee engagement capabilities through the self-service provided by attendance terminals. Of course, other factors like Kronos’ growing customer base in India, including automotive manufacturers such as Toyota, helped as well.
Renault-Nissan had been using a very basic T&A system that simply could not scale up to the company’s growth. From that perspective, one could say this project is for a replacement system, but pretty much every account in India will be a replacement that way, as almost everyone currently deploys a basic biometric device.
My understanding is that this is the only Renault-Nissan site in the world to be using Kronos, which could mean lots of expansion opportunities down the track.
