Infor has reached an agreement to acquire CERTPOINT, a provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS)–based learning technology. CERTPOINT currently holds a portfolio of clients counting more than 1,300 businesses in more than 80 countries and 30 languages. The list of clients includes Honda, Stanley Black & Decker, Lutheran Medical Center, Meritas Health, and Toyota.
Infor intends to take advantage of CERTPOINT’s learning management system (LMS) and learning content management software (LCMS) capabilities to advance the Infor human capital management (HCM) suite. So far, Infor HCM has included functionality that supports human resources (HR) service delivery, talent management, human resource management, and workforce management. This new acquisition complements the present modules with support for a critical HCM requirement: learning and development.
Ara Ohanian, CEO and chief happiness officer of CERTPOINT Systems, explains, “Our aim is to offer clients all the advantages of our combined strengths, building further on our ability to transform knowledge into tangible business results.”
Infor intends to target the automotive, finance, food and beverage, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, and public sector markets. In addition, the newly added LMS capabilities are expected to be heavily exploited by Infor’s customers in the healthcare industry, where learning is an underlying growth factor.
